Korbin Dixson

Korbin, a seasoned swimmer with 10 years of competitive experience and now in his second year on the CR Washington Men’s Varsity team, has built his reputation on steady progression, grit, and a powerful drive to improve. His racing history shows clear strengths in the mid-distance freestyle events—particularly the 200 Free and 500 Free—where he has made some of his biggest leaps.

Over the past three seasons with Cedar Rapids Washington Warriors & two seasons with Coe Aquatics, Korbin has dropped well over 40 seconds in the 500 Free, sharpening his race strategy, pacing discipline, and closing speed. What began as early-season 6:18 swims in late 2023 has transformed into consistent mid-5:50s, with a standout 5:34.44 in January 2025—his largest single-meet drop of the event. This kind of improvement reflects not just physical growth but a maturing racer who learns from every swim.

His 200 Free tells a similar story. Starting in the high 1:40s as a freshman, Korbin has steadily pushed into the low-2:00s by 2025. He now demonstrates strong front-half speed, better turns, and the stamina to hold his pace under pressure, even posting multiple sub-2:10 swims throughout the season and a 2:00.60 performance as his best so far.

Taken together, these time drops highlight three defining strengths:

Mid-distance endurance: Korbin thrives in events requiring smart pacing and grit.
Consistent year-over-year improvement: Every season shows measurable, meaningful progress.
Race maturity & adaptability: His drops often occur mid-season—proof he applies coaching feedback quickly and fearlessly.

Korbin’s blend of work ethic, resilience, and team-driven spirit continues to fuel his momentum in the pool. With each race, he not only sharpens his competitive edge but strengthens the camaraderie that makes the sport so meaningful to him.
